E91 American Caramel (Issued circa. 1908 - 1910)


Probably the most disliked and uncollected of all the E-sets due to the repeated use of art that created situations where the image isn't the actual player. Art was used once in set A and then repeated 2 more times with new team names and player names added in sets B and C. See Below for an example.

33 different images were used to create the 99 total cards. Of the 99 cards there are only 78 different players.

This set has not been officially reprinted but fakes may be made using computer scanners and color printers.

set "A". The print on the back is in black.

Properly sized cards are
1.5" wide X 2.625" high.

Set B

This is the back of an E91 card from
set "B". The print on the back is in black.

Properly sized cards are
1.5" wide X 2.625" high.

Set C

This is the back of an E91 card from
set "C". The print on the back is in black.

Properly sized cards are 1.5" wide X 2.625" high.

 

As you can see the name Chicago was used across the players chest with this art for use in sets A and B for the Steinfeldt card. This pose was repeated in set C for the Barbeau card and the name Pittsburg was put in place of Chicago.
